Little Joe's Page

Little Joe is a dun Quarter Horse gelding. Joe is a very well broke older gelding. He still needs a weight but is gaining steadily here. Joe came to a rescue very underweight and with a halter stuck to his face. It had to be cut off to be removed. He has permanent scarring on his face from his halter. His body is also pretty scarred up and we assume he had a pretty rough life prior to life at our ranch.  When Joe first came to the ranch he did not trust anyone, was hard to catch and would hide behind the trees. We would often find him in the pasture by himself and often he was hiding. We are very pleased to say with much love, patience, treats, lots of grain and free choice hay, he has turned into a totally different horse!! He is an amazing horse that we love dearly. Sound, not spooky, neck reins, and rides out alone.  His slide show has pics from 2009. We are anxious to get out when the weather warms up and get new pics of him now that he has gained more weight!! After the spring shedding he will look amazing!! He is a very well-trained gelding. He knows his voice commands and is really fun to ride! Very gentle and well mannered on the ground as well.
